Oh, if only we could all be Audrey Hepburn for a day! At $3500 a pop, maybe this recycled bathtub sofa isn't the cheapest way to live out my Breakfast at Tiffany's fantasy but a girl can dream, right? I love the all-white feel and the obvious re-purposing of a junkyard object. Once I win the lottery you can bet this will be jazzing up my living room covered in funky, colorful and totally organic pillows from 2modern.
But for now, I'll take away the green lesson that it's a great idea to purchase things in a color you can live with for awhile and then spice it up with accessories as your mood changes. I think Audrey would be proud!
Oh, I love to discover new magazines! The Sweedish magazine Sköna Hem (found via Emma's Design Blog) is an absolute wealth of inspirational photos and products. Of course, I don't understand a word of it but we all speak "design" right? The Blog Roll on their site is an inspiring read as well!
Reader Dana sent in this beautiful dining room as a great example of mixing old and new. Here, the floorboards are salvaged from an old bowling alley and the roman blinds are made from vintage linen sheets. And although the room is actually quite small, the continuous white allows your eye to bounce around the room making it appear much larger while the stacked magazines offer a pop of color and a fun boho vibe.
